RECIPE DETAILS

Ingredients

  • Old Fashioned Oats (divided) - 3 cups

  • Cranberries - 1 cup

  • Mashed Sweet Potatoes - 1 cup

  • Eggs - 2 large

  • Coconut Oil - 2 tablespoons

  • Kosher Salt - 0 teaspoon

  • Ground Turmeric - 0 teaspoon

  • Ground Cinnamon - 0 teaspoon

  • Whole Oats - 1 cup

Instructions

  1. Add 3 cups of oats to the bowl of a food processor and process until they resemble coarse flour or breadcrumbs. Transfer this 'oat flour' into a large bowl.

  2. Add cranberries to the food processor and chop until they reach the texture of relish. If using dried cranberries, add about a teaspoon of water.

  3. Add mashed sweet potato, eggs, and coconut oil to the food processor and mix until well combined.

  4. Add the oat flour and spices, mixing until well combined.

  5. Add the whole oats last and pulse a few times to incorporate them, but do not chop them up. The dough should be thick and sticky.

  6. Transfer the dough to a separate bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least one hour.

  7. Once chilled, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and flour a surface to roll out the dough.

  8. Roll the dough out to about ¼ – ½ inch thick and cut out your favorite shapes.

  9. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a non-stick baking mat.

  10. Bake at 350°F for 35 – 40 minutes, keeping an eye on them after 35 minutes to ensure they become hard and crunchy.

  11. Let the treats cool for a few minutes, then share them with your favorite dog or store in an airtight container!
